. there's a lot of things that could go right for governor romney. there will be two more debates, not election eve. having said this the fact that i don't think the debates will change a lot, the race is close. if there's a small change, even a couple points because of the debates that could be decisive. >> heather: there is the matter of real world matters as well in terms what is going on in the real world, surrounding these debates and the times they happen, right? >> exactly right. four years ago the reason nothing changed from this point on to the rest of the election, the debates didn't matter because we already had the wall street meltdown and candidates had reacted, real world events solidified 's solid lead. we haven't had an event like that but there's things percolating in the mideast that could shake-up the race, a couple more employment reports. if employment numbers and other economic indicators muddle along, then they won't change things that much. if there is a big shift in perceptions of the economy, that will have a bigger impact than the debates. >> gregg: i ha
